Convective billet heating

A special type of billet heater is the convection furnace. The furnace atmosphere is re-circulated by high performance fans and blown onto the billet surface with high velocity out of nozzles. Especially in the case of large diameter billets this leads to very uniform heating. The furnaces are equipped with self-recuperative gas burners.
