Storing of copper in the rotary furnaces

The manufacture of copper semi-finished products in a continuous melting and casting process calls for storage and holding furnaces which fulfil the following functions:

• Storing of large volumes of metal ready for casting
• Pouring via siphons
• Furnace atmosphere easy to control
• High superheating power
• Assuring a constant metal temperature
• Providing a homogeneous melt
• Buffer function between melting and casting

The induction heated rotary furnace with its large storage volume and the sealed furnace atmosphere has proved to be ideal for this application.
