OCP +

Laser-optic temperature measurement

OCP+ helps you to detect faults early and to remove the cause economically. It guarantees high equipment availability, leads to operational and process safety and reduces your costs, short-term by fewer unexpected failures and long-term by saved maintenance costs!

OCP+ is a patented temperature measuring system to monitor local temperature distribution on the inside of the coils of coreless induction furnaces. It reliably detects wear and crucible damage such as erosion, cracks and metal fins.

Apart from the melting and holding operation, the sintering process is also monitored reliably. The system can be used in most coreless induction furnaces.

Special features

  • One measuring unit can monitor up to two furnaces and is extendable at additional expense
  • Temperature warning functions and alarms which can be adjusted in various ways
  • LED status display for warnings and alarms
  • Playback function for tracking the development of crucible defects over time
  • Installation of the OCP+ system is irrespective of the supplier of the crucible furnace
  • OCP+ fiber is embedded in the permanent lining/coil levelling mix and does not have to be replaced during a re-lining

Since OCP+ is a laser-optic temperature measuring system, it works perfectly even in strong electromagnetic fields, contrary to resistance measuring systems.

Examples from practical operation

Advantages at a glance

More safety for personnel and machinery

Improved safety due to early detection of crucible damage and avoiding of coil damage and crucible breakthroughs.

Improved equipment availability

Temperature visualization ahead of the induction coil helps to detect local crucible wear and therefore makes the repair of faulty areas and the planning of a relining easier.

Improved process security

Our OCP+ is the only system which also allows a complete temperature monitoring even during the sintering process. Humidity does not affect the measurement. Full functionality is maintained even when melting zinc alloys or galvanized scrap.

Low investment and operation costs

The OCP+ sensor cable is integrated in the permanent lining, so that there are no extra costs during crucible changes. In total, this means considerably reduced maintenance costs compared to other crucible monitoring systems.
